No eye makeup look is complete until you either coat your lashes with mascara or pop on some fake lashes. Whether you’re going for a soft makeup look or even a dramatic makeup look, eyelashes are a must. Of course, each process does add more time to your makeup routine. I mean, this isn’t that big of a deal to me, but it will definitely be nice to be able to skip this routine for a couple of weeks. Plus, if you’re like me and you don’t know how to put on lashes but want more than just your normal lashes, then eyelash extension is the way to go.
Honestly, I have never really considered getting eyelash extensions before because I was fine with the way my eyelashes looked with mascara. But I had also never worn fake lashes until a couple months ago. I then realized how big of a difference they looked compared to my natural lashes. I instantly wanted my eyelashes to look similar to when I had falsies on. However, like I said, I do not know how to put falsies on. I’ve tried a few times, and I could never manage it. I think if I practiced every day, then I could eventually learn how to put them on, but with my current work schedule, I just don’t have the time.
Anyways, when my friend showed me a picture of her friend’s eyelash extensions we were very impressed with how they looked and with the price she paid. So we immediately made appointments to get them done at Nail Trix salon and Spa, in Columbia Maryland.
As the day got closer to getting them done we were both very anxious. My friend has had lash extensions once, but she wasn’t too pleased with the outcome, nor the amount she paid for them. We were a little skeptical because of how cheap they were, costing only $35 where most salons are charging around $80 dollars or more, we were obviously worried about what the quality of the lashes was going be. Thankfully, they turned out really great, the process itself was painless, it took about 15minutes and will last anywhere from 2-4 weeks. I believe my first experience was a success. My friend also loved the way they looked compared to her previous ones. Here are some before and after pictures.
Some may ask would I get them done again? I would say that I would definitely get them done again, but this won’t be a routine (for me at least.) I will most likely get them done again if I were going to a special event because then I won’t have to stress about putting lashes on. I may also get them done if I were going on a vacation so I could do minimal makeup but still look fabulous. The only negative experience I’ve had with these is when I wash my face. I never realized how often I actually rub my eyes when water hits them. I absolutely recommend eyelash extensions if you can get past that part because they have been extremely convenient and absolutely flawless thus far!
If you live near Fort Meade, Maryland, then you should definitely check it out!
