I’ve finally tried out the Piggy Mom SoakSoak Nose Pack that we talked about in my Beauty Haul post! I’m a slacker, I know. I wanted to wait until my pores really needed a good cleaning so that I could see if the product truly worked. Yesterday was that day. Finally.
What initially interested me with this product was the fact that it is a three step process. I really liked that there is before and after care, I feel that it makes the process more efficient. Rather than just sticking a Biore strip on your nose, ripping it off, and going about your day, leaving your pores open to new bacteria.
Pore strips, in general, are pretty controversial. Some people claim that they do more harm than good, though a lot of these claims are false. What is true, however, is that if you use pore strips incorrectly you could develop breakouts pretty quickly. Which is another reason why offering this three step process is extremely beneficial. Pore strips play a valuable role in cleaning the face. As you know, pores can be clogged by dead skin cells and sebum. That’s where pore strips come in handy.
Alright, on to the review:
Step one: is a moistened strip that smells of Eucalyptus. It’s very pleasant and offers a cooling effect. You keep the strip on for 15 – 20 minutes. You will know when it is time to take if off because it will be falling off of your nose. Mine stuck around for 15 minutes. There was a little bit more liquid in the pack that I rubbed on my nose after taking the first strip off.
Step two: this one is similar to a Biore strip, remove the plastic and put the sticky side on your nose. You’re going to want to do this quickly because you are using the liquid from the previous treatment. Do not wet the strip further. Keep it dried. After 10 – 15 minutes you will tear it off and look in amazement at all the gunk that came out of your nose. If you’re a weirdo like me at least 🙂
It’s really hard to see from the picture because it is a pink strip, but holy smokes there was a lot of gunk.
Step three: Finally. This last process was not my favorite. You have to remove the transparent film from the gel pad and place directly on your nose. Remove it after 5 – 10 minutes. I couldn’t keep it on for more than 3 because it burned and was so slippery that it just kept falling off. This step is, however, necessary to protect your nose from bacteria. When I took the strip off I rubbed the product into my nose. It’s a little sticky but it has a nice smell, like the first strip. This step made my nose SO smooth and soft.
I give this product a 9/10 only because it is quite lengthy. It will take 45-50 minutes to complete the three steps. Also, because the last step burned a bit, although my skin is quite sensitive so you may not have the same problem. I have to say that this is my favorite pore strip that I’ve ever used. My pores are cleaner and smaller than they have been in a VERY long time.
